Have we finished all the Galliel in videos?

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 6:57 am

For those not familior with Torahvideo.com. I go around with my video camera and tell over stories of the greatest sages in Jewish history at their grave sites.

From my estimation, we have completed aproximately 95% of the major graves of famious Rabbi’s in the upper northern region of Israel. In about one month, we should complete close to 99%. Graves which are placed in arab towns that are more centural in those cities, I will skip over for security reasons. I am happy to say that I am at a point where I am simply crossing off the remaining Rabbi’s off of a list that is how few remain compared to how many we have already done.

  1. Bh WOW RM. May hashem bles you for all you do.

  2. When are you going to start doing videos on famous Rabbis NOT buried in the north?

  3. Well I feel I am nea.ring those crossroads now. I have to decide where I want to take videos in the future. I’ve already discussed with professionals how to improve on quality should I be able to afford better equipment one day, with the help of Hashem.

I think with the increase of gas prices in Israel, I simply can’t afford to go down south to work. Just going around the north costs me $120 a week on gas now. I also never really got enough feedback to know where to take the videos. Thousands will watch a video but not tell me how the music selection was, the transitions in editing, camera angles and what parts of videos they enjoy. I am starting to wonder if I am simply a bore with my style of talking. I personally would never have the patience to listen to a twin of me but apparently, people are listening but why and too which videos in particular. I have so many questions and I may never have these answers from viewers. I also feel like I have abandonded Tzfat but doing m most videos outside her lately but there is very little privacy to film here. People have asked to join me on my trips and I think I prefer them private. I mean, how will I make a nice video if someone is talking to me the entire drive there. Some people adviced me to make more of a film or movie and get actors together but id rather stay away from becoming a producer of sorts. This is about helping people find their neshamos and Hashem. There are plenty of talented people who can do real filmaking. I also think of stopping and returning to finish my books but who wants to read anymore when the world is turning to video.

So Yossel, don’t overdue on insurance on your lift. It is very rare things break and it is a waist of money if you hire a good company. My lift costed almost 10,000. 3,000 was just insurance and 1 $20 item broke.

What should I do? They are coming in a week so I cant change shippers now plus the one I am using has the best reputation in ISrael (its probably the same guy who shipped your stuff from the US. Rav Moshe when you have finished doing one video on every Admor buired in ISrael you can go touring in europe and make videos there at the kever of every other Tzaddik (besides uman) 🙂
