My Father, My friend

Filed under: Mishaps/tests/U name it — Reb Moshe @ 4:58 am

dad.jpgToday is my fathers Yertizte, Memorial. It has been about 8 years since he passed away. For me it seems like yesterday but my memory of him is mostly picturing him hooked up to tubes and when I think of him without, I break down. You would think after 8 years, one would cope better then this but I guess it depends on how special the person really was too you. In my case, my father was my inspiration, teacher, guide, friend and so much more. The Rabbi’s tell us to learn Torah special in the merit of the departed soul but I literally can barely open my lips on this day so please if you could learn some Torah for me. Shlomo Zavel Ben Yaakov Z’L    (He really is the true inspiration behind all of my teaching work)

Really, the great post you could make for my blog is to write me that you learned something in honor of him today

  1. I will submit the name of your father for his yartzeit to the daily shiur in The Jewish Home( by Rabbi Eliezer Rokach shlita.(tzedakah will be given in his name as well).

  6. I’m very sorry you are still sad about your father…it is definitely understandable. I lost my best friend from high school 5 years ago March 26 and I never fail to think of him everytime a good thing happens for me in my life…I know he is still looking out for me. The people we love live on through us. Never make any excuses for continous mourning…you are not alone, more people feel the same way. I send you great sympathy. Be safe and Blessed Be. ~Tessa~

  7. I feel for you and your family…I lost my own father (he would have been 50 April 1) on Sunday afternoon and the funeral is Wednesday 3/28/07. I will keep you and your family in my heart and in my prayers…

It is times like this that we should treasure our own lives and seek to make them a blessing… so in honor of treasuring life l’chaim!!!

  10. I felt strength from all of you who learned something and thought of him. It was one of the better years for me during his yetzite, thank you all so much. I went to Meron and the Idra and learned for him.
