The Hard Facts

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 12:48 am

At this stage, I must begin to consider shutting down the sites due to a lack of funds and volunteers. The only way to save it would be to immediately have Jewish press coverage that would draw in a larger flow of financial supporters.

May Hashem punish the hacker who has stood in the way of nice people learning Torah and coming close to Hashem. There might be some more intermittent down time but we should be up and running now.

I’m getting lots of flat tires running around on old dirt roads to kevarim. They already remember me at the tire shop!

Please pray for my wife to recover her strength quickly.

Writers Wanted!

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 1:16 am

untitledgfgf.bmpI am looking for people to write columns for Jewish magazines and newspapers about all the TorahVideos. If you have any connections in this realm, please use your abilities to promote the videos which are an important accent to any Jewish institution and family. Id like to start promoting them as free Torah DVDs but I lack the time to do this myself.

Lots of new Videos up

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 1:12 am

I put up 5 new videos in the last week. untitledvd.bmpI just added two new ones this motzei Shabbos. If your new to ilovetorah and passing by, don’t forget to leave me some feedback. I do read all my mail and all the blog posts.

This shabbos we had one sleep over guest and 3 people for Friday Night Siuda. Shabbos day it was raining. The server is back up and running and we believe this will be the last time it will be down.

Visiting Kevarim

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 6:31 pm

This week I put in a lot of traveling to the different kevarim, graves in the north. Even though I have covered most already, it is a never ending task as there is always someone else to go to. We have been blessed with many righteous Jews to follow whom have left us with wonderful legacies. I hope it brings these Sages a big aliyah, elevation to be spoken about and remembered in this new video age. The site has been a bit quiet lately. Everyone fall asleep?

Monthy Donations

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 10:38 am

p1010002.JPGAnyone who knows me well, knows that I put 200% into the websites. We really need consistant monthly donation signups. I have very old computers that need replacing, I have no video lights for the camcorder, we have no advertising budget for the last 2 months, etc… I don’t have volenteers willing to help with server issues, design, programming, fundraising, getting advertisers, editing, etc… I completed two more new videos this week, one with banjo at amukah and one by Mordechai and Esther! Unfortuately, I have no time to edit them or put them up as there is no help with site issues.

I know some of you have no money to help and please don’t feel bad about this. Your prayers are also a great help.

Whats up

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 4:10 am

Today I formatted my refurb 250gig drive which just got back from the states. It was having some technical problems and after 2 hours of troubleshooting i fixed it.

I am backing up now data from C: drive and reformatting. Then loading on new Vista XP so the computer runs cleaner. My other external drive fell after someone tripped on it so I hope I can get the data off. It takes a lot of time and computer power to move hundreds of gigs of space.

tn_smile_penny.gifI removed the animation for now since it was too large. I fired another programmer last night I had hired. It is hard to find good help these days. Did I mention the server was hacked the other day? I should have a temporary launch of the new TorahVideo site in the next couple of days. I had to download new ftp client to transfer the data but first I need to fix the broken external drive to get that data off.

It is not very eventful for me to do this especially when I could be writing new Divrey Torah and making Torah Videos but I have no funds to hire external assistance.

The baby is healing nicely B’H. He wakes up throughout the night still, sometimes 8x, so I am usually on night duty.

That is the lowdown from Tzfat this week.

Jewish New Year!

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 12:04 am

I know some will be celebrating the new years but how many holy Jews have forgotten about Yiddishkite simply because they no longer use a Hebrew calendar. So tonight, I morn for this. For those who don’t own a Jewish Calendar. At the same time, I am so happy everyone is off from work and still getting paid!

I messed up the comments link so it will take you back to the intro. I will fix it up tomorrow, I’m too lazy to do it now. This is what happens when someone like myself messes around with programming code.
