Chol Hamoed, should i go out and play

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 4:00 pm

Look, you can go out and have fun but put in 3 hours of Torah study the night before and bring a sefer and MP3 Torah shir as you go. I spent chol hamoed once with Rav Belski son (with another friend)… he had a sefer open 90% of the time we were at the kenneret…

Why does it first say when you sit by your house and afterwards when go on your way… (these words should be in your thoughts)… because once you know how to study Torah in your home or bais medresh… then it’s the same for you when you go outside.

And if it’s not this way for you… then like the Pnei Moshe (commentary on jerushalmi talmud, not me) explains it would be better for you to not travel around all chol hamoed

Finishing up my books

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 5:00 pm

I am working hard now to finish up my books in the next few months. I’m planning to self-publish 3 books the same time and sell them at cost. It is a very exciting time for me.

The future of Ilovetorah

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 4:06 am

I believe the future of Ilovetorah website is a new template for everything. Videos being sold also on disk for inexpensive and the publishing in hard copy of my books. I certainly could use more financial support to make this happen. As a father and bread winner, I don’t have the time I once had to give 100%. But if there was more support, that might be possible Hashem willing

Uploading new videos

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 4:02 am

Currently there are about 330 Torah videos of mine on

On YouTube only 220 as my goal was always to draw people to the website and not really use YouTube. However, websites are a bit out of style. If you see new videos uploaded there, please view them so they get more hits. There are over 1 million views there but if you would add the extinct google videos site and torahvideo it would be closer to 2 million. The new videos uploaded wont have so many hits since people have already watched them before.

My Kiruv Online History: WHAT A ROLLER COASTER RIDE!

Filed under: deep reflections,Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 4:21 pm

My Kiruv Online History: WHAT A ROLLER COASTER RIDE! First came making a website… I jumped on that 15 years ago with and Then came youtube… when I was already the first and ONLY Jewish outreach person making videos online… but youtube took over… I had to go there and share in spreading torah videos… So my popular site took second base. Then came Blogs which meant that people didn’t go to Torah sites as much… so i had to force myself to do blogs and my blog was really popular… but then came myspace… so my blog wasn’t important anymore even though there is thousands of Torah pages there … then I had 20,000 people on myspace, one of the largest Torah communities which was overtaken by Facebook… so now all i have for outreach really is youtube and facebook until you all get bored of that and I have to pick up the next tool…. but my friends… I miss just a simple Torah website…. and nobody remembers the old days when I was doing this all by myself opening up doors in technology Kiruv never done before…. Now i just struggle to keep up. So I am about to post on my blog now but nobody really cares cause its not in right now like facebook which will soon fade out into the abyss like everything else. But the beauty of it all is that a few hundred people remember the beginning and a legacy online that even when it fades away… somewhere you will find me, somewhere will show up my Torah videos or writings.

A look into my life:

Filed under: Website Kvetching — Reb Moshe @ 12:10 am

A look into my life: I work all day & in the afternoon I close up shop for 2 hours & I go to one of the holiest places in the world & I put all my work & troubles behind me. I study quickly to try to make up for loss time from working & I have my tefillin on for added holiness. When I return home, I am back to work again half the night. If I have any strength left, I go out at chatzos, midnight & I sometimes will take out my pipe & a tehillim and try to disapear into another realm. Whatever I am doing, my rule is to put my entire mind & heart into it so B’H everything is successful & on shabbos & sunday.. I relax.

Meanwhile, I am trying to partner off my business with the condition that as soon as it is running well, I will be able to devote my tell completely to Torah study. I’m stuck paying off old debts still and pray for the extra funds I need to purchase a new home as we currently live in a small rental with no space. Hashem will soon help!
