Sefer Yom Leyom, A persons Home

1. Having a home makes a person feel secure.
2. It is important to take care of ones dwelling and not let it fall apart.
3. The cleaner a persons home is kept, the more clear there thoughts are.
4. Check your mezuzos more often then required.
5. The blessing in a persons home comes from the women.
6. Don’t acquire a home that you can’t afford as it will never really feel like yours when you have the weight of bills on your shoulders.
7. Make sure that your home is near to the mikvah and synagogue you wish to pray in.
8. Be sure that the home you wish to buy or rent will not require constant upkeep.
9. It only takes one difficult neighbor to make your life stressful.
10. Never trust your landlord or tenant as when it comes to money, people can change at the last moment.
11. Lighting olive oil returns the Shechinah into your home.
12. It is important not to compromise when it comes to having a home with windows that bring in air and light.
13. Having simchas inside your home for your family and others brings down blessing.
14. Owning a home in Eretz Yisrael brings a person ohlom Habah.
15. Make sure your home is filled with practical items rather then things that are just for materialistic values.
16. Make sure the Torah is studied every night in your home.
17. Its important to study Torah in the home besides going out to the Bais Medresh so that the wife and family can feel its sanctity more personally.
18. If there is fighting in the home, the Satan dwells with you. Through humility peace will be restored and the home will be filled with light again.
